Pastor Hodge and his wife Sonya were raised in preacher’s homes. Craig was saved at the age of eleven years. Sonya was 21 years old when she trusted Jesus as her Savior. Immediately out of High School, Pastor Hodge attended Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, IN. After returning home he began the pursuit of a secular career in communications and consulting.
God blessed his career as he worked for the same company for 13 years. (It was during this time that Craig met and married Sonya Johanna Martin.) With experience, continued education and over time he rose to an executive management level within the company.
During these years, they were faithful to church attendance and active in the church ministries. Pastor & Sonya served together as: Sunday School Teachers, in the Bus Ministry and working with the Youth Group. Craig also served as a Deacon, Trustee and Missions Committee Member. In the fall of 1997 at an “Old-Fashioned Tent Meeting” in Rochester Hills, Michigan, at Rochester Hills Baptist Church, the Lord led the Hodge Family to surrender their lives to full-time ministry.
Since 1998, Craig has served as a Youth Pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Fenton, MI, and as an Associate Pastor at Landmark Baptist Church of Downingtown, PA. Then working with Baptist Ambassadors to America Missionary Fellowship he served as a Missionary Pastor at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Churchville, MD, helping to strengthen and re-establish that work. Most recently prior to rejoining Baptist Ambassador to America and planting Quarryville Baptist Church, he was a Full-time Senior Pastor.
The Lord has blessed the Hodge Family through these years in the ministry. Their oldest son Daniel graduated in May (07) from the Crown College in Powell, TN and is presently assisting in the new church plant. Matthew is a freshmen at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster CA preparing for the ministry. Their youngest son Ben is in the 7th Grade. Pastor Hodge, Sonya and the boys are humbled at the privilege and opportunity to serve the Lord here at Quarryville Baptist Church. |
